What's the difference between fins and flippers?
Fins and flippers:
S.No. | Flippers | Fins |
1. | Adapted limbs are called flippers. | Not being a modified limb, a fin. |
2. | The bones, tendons, and cartilage of a flipper are all there. | Fins are mostly made of cartilage and do not contain ny genuine bones or skeletal structure. |
3. | Although technically pectoral comes from pectoralis, which means breast or chest, and is a bit of an anatomical misnomer, flipper correlates to the arm and hand of terrestrial creatures. | An animal's dorsal fin is found on its back. |
4. | A broad, flattened limb designed for aquatic mobility is called a flipper. | The dorsal, adipose, caudal, anal, paired pelvically, and paired pectoral fins of the catfish are present. |
