According to this statement: When 3 is subtracted from a certain number and the result multiplied by 5, this means = 5 (x - 3),
further, the result is the same as when 3 is added twice the number, it says
⟹ 5 (x - 3) = 2*x + 3 .......(I)
⟹ 5x - 15 = 2x + 3
⟹ 5x - 2x = 3 + 15
⟹ 3x = 18
⟹ x = 6

Proof: On putting the value of x = 6 in equation (i),
⟹ 5 (6 - 3) = 2*6 + 3
⟹ 5 * 3 = 12 + 3
