When 400 g of a 20% Solution was cooled 50 g of the solute precipitated. What is the percent concentration of the remaining solution.

Given:
weight of the solution =400g
weight of the solute = 20×400100 = 80g
weight of solute precipitated = 50g
weight of solute remained in the solution = 8050=30g
weight of solution remained= 40050=350g
Hence the percent concentration of the remaining solution=30350×100

=8.57 % is the answer.
