Reaction between (A) and HCl to give (B)
A brown compound of Manganese is MnO2(A). The chemical reaction taking place between MnO2 and HCl is given as:
MnO2+4HCl→MnCl2+Cl2+2H2o
(A) (B)
Thus, when MnO2 reacts with HCl it produces chlorine gas Cl2 (B).
Reaction between (B) and NH3
The chlorine gas when taken in excess and reacted with ammonia NH3 produces nitrogen trichloride (C), which is an explosive compound. The reaction is shown below:
NH3+Cl2(excess)→NCl3+3HCl
(B) (C)
Thus, the compounds A, B and C are: A=MnO2 B=Cl2 C=NCl3
