Question

When a current carrying conductor is kept in a magnetic field, state the position when maximum force acts on it

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
When a current carrying conductor is kept in a magnetic field the force experienced by the conductor is given by the formula-
Force on the conductor = F
F =I(B×L)F =BILsinθ The force will be maximum when sinθ = 1 or θ=900.
Here I= current in the conductor, B = external magnetic field, L = length of the conductor.
