The Einstein equation for photo electric effect is eV0hc=1λ1λ0
Where V0 is stopping potential and λ0 is threshold wavelength. h and c are also constants.
For case-1
eXhc=1λ1λ0 .....(1)

For case-2
eX3hc=12λ1λ0 .....(2)

dividing equation-1 by equation-2
we get 3=1λp12λp ,

Where p=1λ0, for simplicity.
Solving above equation we get p=14λ
or threshold wavelength λ0=4λ
