  • Peptide bonds are formed by a condensation reaction of Carboxylic group of an amino acid and Amino group of another amino acid with the elimination of water molecule.
  • When a peptide bond is hydrolyzed, a free amino (-NH2) group and the carboxyl (-COOH) functional groups are produced.
