So,

Or, Total distance traveled = 64 km

Total time taken is 2 hours

So, $Averagespeed=\frac{Totaldistancetraveled}{Totaltimetaken}=\frac{64}{2}=32$ km/h

(b) As he returns to his house, the displacement is zero

And we know,

$\therefore$ Average Velocity =$\frac{\text{displacement}}{\text{time}}$=0

Hence the average velocity is 0.
