Solution

Dear Student

Melting point is the temperature at which a solid changes into liquid. The temperature remains constant till all solid melts into liquid. This is because the heat that is supplied for changing a solid state into its liquid state is used for overcoming and weakening the particle-particle attraction force. The solid substance thus absorbs heat energy without showing any rise in temperature till the entire solid is converted to liquid.
