The correct option is D 2.45 ${m s}^{- 2}$
It is known that, $g = (\frac{G M}{R^{2}})$

$g = 9.8 \frac{m}{s e c^{2}}$

When the distance from center of the earth = $2 R$

So, $g = (\frac{G M}{2 R^{2}})$

$= (\frac{G M}{4 R^{2}})$

$= \frac{9.8}{4}$

$= 2.45 \frac{m}{s e c^{2}}$
