Electrolysis of aqueous NaCl:-

NaClNa+(aq)+Cl(aq)
H2O(l)H+(aq)+OH(aq)

At Cathode:-
Hydrogen reduction takes place in preference to Na+ as a reduction potential of Na+ is less than Hydrogen.
2H++2eH2(g)---------reduction.

At Anode:-
Chlorine gas gets oxidized at the anode in preference to OH

2ClCl2(g)+2e.
