When an object is touched with the metal top of an electroscope, its aluminium leaves diverge. What concludion do you get from this observation?

When the plastic comb is rubbed with dry hairs, it acquires negative charge. Now when touched with the metal top of an electroscope then both the metal cap and the leaves acquire negative charge due to conduction. Because of negative charge on both the leaves they will start to diverge each other.
