When barium chloride solution is added to salt solution E, a white precipitate insoluble in dilute hydrochloric acid is obtained. Identify the anion present in the compound.

Here the salt solution E is Na2SO4. When BaCl2 solution is added to Na2SO4, white precipitates of BaSO4 are formed.
This white precipitate formed are insoluble in dil. HCl. This test is used for the identification of sulphate (SO24) radical.
