Solution

In case of the genuineness of the complaint, the court can issue one or more directions to the opposite party.

  • To remove a defect in goods or services.
  • To refund the price.
  • To replace the defective good with a new one.
  • To pay a reasonable amount of compensation for any loss or injury suffered.
  • To pay punitive damages.
  • To discontinue the unfair/restrictive trade practices.
  • Not to offer hazardous goods for sale.
  • To withdraw hazardous goods from sale.
  • To cease the manufacture of hazardous goods.
  • To pay any amount (not less than 5% of the value of defective good or service in question), to be credited to Consumer Welfare Fund.
  • To issue corrective advertisement, in place of misleading advertisement.
  • To pay adequate costs to the appropriate party.
