Dear Student,
The map of the Indian sub-continent, made by a popular Arab geographer - Al-Idrisi was invented in 1154, It shows that south India was in the northern part of India and Sri Lanka at the top of India. Yet, another map of a similar territory made by a French Cartographer (an individual who makes maps) in 1720 is very not quite the same as what al-Idrisi made as that was more point by point in nature and has a level of commonality.
