DNA Testing:

1. In 1984, Sir Alec Jeffreys, who was a British geneticist, discovered the technique of DNA testing to determine a genetic “fingerprint” in the laboratory.
2. Alec Jeffreys developed a technique in which he used the satellite DNAs also called as VNTRs (Variable Number of Tandem Repeats) as probes because they showed a high level of polymorphism.
