Rani Lakshmibai, also known as "Jhansi ki Rani" was born on 19th November 1828 in the town of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She was the queen of Maratha princely state, Jhansi of Uttar Pradesh. She is well known for her bravery and contribution in the Indian rebellion of 1857 against the British East India Company. She fought against the British who wanted to seize the state of Jhansi. She died on 18th June 1958 in Gwalior while fighting the British soldiers.
