The First World War broke out on 28 July, 1914. It started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo, of Austria-Hungary, proceeding which they sent an ultimatum to Serbia, and later when Serbia didn't agree to one of their demands, Austria-Hungary declared, war on Serbia.
