Question

When do we solve a sumsum straight forward and when do we use BODMAS/DMAS rule for the SAME? Please specify.

You can always use the BODMAS rule. Then there is no risk of mistakes.

However, when you have operations of same priority like addition and subtraction (or multiplication and division), it will not matter much if you doesn't follow BODMAS rule.
