Question

When does light not go in a straight line?

    Open in App
    Solution

Light always goes in a straight line unless it is obstructed by a reflecting surface or the medium in which light is traveling is changed. During reflection, the beam or ray of light is reflected back in the same medium causing it to deviate from its original path. During refraction, light bends its path when it goes from one medium to another.
