Solution
Meiosis in Ferns:
It is a type of reductional division in which the chromosomes gets reduces to half of that of parents.
Spores are called as the most conspicuous in non-seed-bearing plants, including liverworts, hornworts, mosses, and ferns.
In such lower plants, as in fungi, spores function much like seeds.
In general, parent plant sheds the spores locally; spore-generating organs are also frequently located on the undersides of leaves.
In mosses, after fertilization, zygote develop into a sporophyte consisting of a foot, seta & capsule.
The sporophyte in the mosses is more elaborate than that in liverworts.
The capsule contain spores.
Spores are also formed after meiosis and develop into a new gametophyte.
