  1. In a life cycle, a woman’s body is vulnerable to a variety of changes.
  2. The cycle of these changes occur in women every month, positively for pregnancy is called the menstrual cycle.
  3. When an ovum is unfertilized, the uterus lining sheds and leads to a haemorrhage, called menstruation.
  4. The menstrual cycle has been divided into mainly four phases.

Menstrual phase:

  1. The lining of the uterus ready for implantation begins to shed, lasting 3-5 days.
  2. The four phases of menstrual cycle include: Menstrual phase, Follicular phase, Ovulation phase, Luteal phase.

Follicular phase:

  1. The follicular phase begins on the first day of menstruation and ends with ovulation.
  2. In such a phase, the primary follicle starts developing into a mature Graffian follicle.
  3. The endometrium also starts proliferating.
  4. The uterus begins to prepare for another pregnancy.
