When earthquake occurs maximum destruction takes place in and around the epicentre , which is the point where earthquakes originates. It is the point where maximum shaking takes place , it is the point where fault ruptures. However, at times, maximum destruction may spared across the rupture line.
Maximum destruction also depends on man made factors, for instance , construction of buildings and density of population in an area.
