Question

When glass of water is freezed, formation of ice starts from the top layer but melting of ice starts from bottom. Justify.

Ice has less density than water. So, all the ice bieng formed tends to float on water or goes to the top. Whereas when ice melts, water being heavier goes down, appears as if water is at the bottom.
