Solution

The correct option is D

1. When iron nails are added to an aqueous solution of copper sulphate, a displacement reaction occurs in which iron displaces copper from its solution which leads to fading of the blue colour of the solution.

2. After some time, the displaced copper settles down on the iron nails and reduces the surface available for reaction and the solution turns green. Hence, it is a displacement reaction.

Fe(s)+CuSO4(aq)FeSO4(aq)+Cu (s)

3. As the reaction will complete, all the iron metal from the solution will get converted into ferrous sulfate solution, so no iron nails will be there. So,

Conclusive statement- option (D) is also a correct statement.
