Solution

Cambium:

  1. Cambium is a part of a plant or tree.
  2. Cambium is a layer formed in the trunk which produces new bark as a response to the hormones which it gets from the phloem.
  3. The hormone auxin produced in the stem tip controls the cambial activity.
  4. Cambium is formed as a secondary growth once the first season is over.
  5. During the spring season, cambium is more active in plants of the temperate regions and produces a huge number of xylary elements or secondary xylem.
  6. Cambium is less active in the autumn season when more lignin deposition in the xylem is seen.

Thus, the cambium most active during the spring season in plants of temperate regions.
