Solution

The worst fear of my life is and always have been DISSAPOINTING PEOPLE.

I can deal with people being happy with me, envious of me, angry with me, not caring about me…and everything that comes with it but people being disappointed with me od what brings me down. It has been this way ever since i was a child and it continues to dictate a lot of my actions to this day.

How do i deal with it : I have learnt how to divide people into two sets - Important and not important. These sets are very well defined, there is no grey area, no doubts as to membership . The membership may even change with time.

When it comes to the people who i deem important, I tend to overcompensate things in order to make up for the past. For eg, if its a teacher disappointed because of my bad grades, I attend all her/his classes the next semester. If it is a friend I ditched, Ill try to be extra supportive of them over the next few months. Right or wrong, it gives me peace of mind.

When it comes to the people who are not important, I make extra efforts to dissapoint them once again and make myself feel okay with it because “duniya to bhagwan se bhi khush nahi hai”(Even god couldn't make the whole world happy) . There will always be moments in life when i will not be the person that someone else needs or wants me to be and I cannot go through life being ruled by other people, specially people who wouldnt even matter after a few weeks.
