Work done is positive when a force acts in the direction of motion of the body.
Example: When a football is kicked, then the football will travel along the direction of force applied. Therefore, work done on football will be positive.
Step 2:Negative Work
Work done is negative when a force act in the opposite direction of the motion of the body.
Example: When a ball is thrown upward in the air, the ball moves against the force of gravity. Work done by force of gravity is negative.
