Solution

The correct option is B Increases, Decreases
When N2 goes to N+2 , the NN bond distance increase, and when O2 goes to O+2, the OO bond distance decrease.
Electronic configuration of N2=KKσ2s2σ2s2π2p2xπ2p2yσ2p2z.
Hence, the bond order of the nitrogen molecule is 3.
If an electron from bonding π MO is lost to form N+2. The bond order decreases to 2.5. This decreases the strength of the bond. As the bond strength decreases, bond length increases.
Electronic configution of O2=KKσ2s2 σ2s2 σ2p2z π2p2x π2p2y π2p1x π2p1y.
The bond order of oxygen is 2. An electron is lost from antibonding π MO to form O+2. The bond order increases to 2.5. This increases the strength of the bond and the bond distance decreases.
