when Na and Cl is mix we get NaCl.os this case Na is is stable and clnis not stable.this statement is correct or not please explain.

Chlorine gas reacts with sodium to form sodium chloride (which is table salt).Here Chlorine gas is used.Which is Cl2. Clhorine cannot exist as in its Cl state monoatomic state it exista only in diatomic state(Cl2). Bur Na can exist. So in this case this statement is true. When we take Na an Cl Na is stable and Cl is not.
