Open in App
Solution

Dear student, NaCl is also known as rock salt because the mineral from which it is obtained, called halite is also known as rock salt. This mineral derives its name from the fact that when sediments containing this minerals dry up, they form masses of rock. Also this mineral is found in abundance in sea and river beds and sedimentary rocks. Regards
