When naOH reacts with zinc, are bubbles formed to indicate H2?

The reaction is as follows-


Zn + 2NaOH → Na2ZnO2 + H2
Sodium zincate

From the above reaction, we can see that hydrogen gas is released when sodium hydroxide reacts with zinc but this reaction takes place at 550 degrees celcius.
