When processing flower nector into honeybees extract, a considerable amount of water gets reduced. How much flower-nector must be processed to yield 1 kg of honey, if nector contains 50% water and the honey obtained from this nector contains 15% water.

Flower- nector contains 50% of non-water part.
In honey, this non-water part constitutes 85%(10015).
Therefore, 0.5× Amount of flower-nector =0.85× Amount of honey =0.85×1 kg.
Therefore, amount of flower-nector needed =(0.850.5×1) kg =1.7 kgs.
