According to the question :
17x + 4 = 225
or, 17x + 4 $-$ 4 = 225 $-$ 4 [Subtracting 4 from both the sides]
or, 17x = 221
or, $\frac{17 x}{17} = \frac{221}{17}$ [Dividing both the sides by 17]
or, x = 13
Thus, the required number is 13.
