Solution

  • When sodium chloride(NaCl) is heated with conc. sulphuric acid (H2SO4) below 200°C, it will give sodium hydrogen sulphate (NaHSO4)and Hydrogen chloride gas (HCl) as a product.
  • Balance chemical equation: NaCl(s)+H2SO4(aq)<200°CNaHSO4(aq)+HCl(g)
  • Therefore, when sodium chloride is heated with conc. sulphuric acid below 200°C, one of the products formed is sodium hydrogen sulphate.
