Winter stands for the coldness that is present in the selfish Giant’s heart. It also shows his loneliness when Spring wasn’t approaching and birds were not singing in his garden. His garden became a place where no children appeared thus the trees forgot to blossom.
As Winter arrived the Snow covered up the grass with her great white cloak and the Frost painted all the trees silver. Then they invited the North Wind to stay with them. He arrived wrapped in furs and roared all day about the garden. He blew the chimney pots down and was delighted to stay there. Soon he asked Hail to come one a visit. Hail arrived dressed in grey and his breath was like ice. He would rattle the on the roof of the castle for three hours and till he broke most of the slates and then ran around as fast as he could go.
