Solution

The correct options are
A green
D orange
One of the tests to identify presence of sulphate ion in a solution is potassium dichromate test.
Step 1: Cu is treated with H2SO4.
Cu (s) + 2H2SO4(conc.)CuSO4(aq) + SO2(g)+2H2O (l)
Step 2: Acidified potassium dichromate (orange in colour) is added to this. It combines with the sulphur dioxide released from the previous reaction.
A colour change - orange to green is observed as chromium sulphate is formed. This colour change indicates the presence of sulphate ion.
K2Cr2O7(aq) + H2SO4(aq)+3SO2(g)Cr2(SO4)3(aq) + K2SO4(aq) +H2O (l)

K2Cr2O7 Orange
Cr2(SO4)3 Green
