Solution

The correct option is C 3×108
The reflected ray will be completely polarized when the angle of incidence is equal to polarizing angle.

By Brewster's law,

tanip=μ

Where, μ Refractive index of the material

Here, ip=60

μ=tan60=3

We know that,

μ=cv

Where, v is the velocity of light in the material.

3=3×108v

v=3×1083=3×108 ms1

Hence, option (C) is correct.
Why this question?

Key concept: When the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of polarization, ip,

tanip=μ
