Solution

The correct option is B

fall forward

  1. When the driver applies sudden brakes in a fast-moving car the passengers fall forward in the car.
  2. This is because of Newton's first law of motion.
  3. According to this law, If a body is in motion, it tries to be in motion unless an external force is applied.
  4. But if any external force is applied to it, the body tries to oppose it, this is called the law of Inertia.
  5. So, if the driver applies a sudden break it means he applied an external force on the car to stop it, but initially, passengers were in motion so they try to be in motion, but if brakes were applied then they move forward.

Hence, option (b) is correct.
