Solution

The correct option is A

True

Mechanical advantage is defined as ratio of load (L) raised to the effort (E) applied i.e.,
Mechanical advantage (MA) = Load (L)Effort (E) .....(i)

Also by principle of machines,
Effort x Effort arm = Load x Load arm
LoadEffort=Effort armLoad arm ..(ii)

From equation (i) and (ii),
Mechanical Advantage = Effort armLoad arm

When effort arm > load arm, then Effort armLoad arm > 1
So, mechanical advantage > 1

Hence, the given statement is true.
