ve=24 cm
fe=8 cm

Applying lens formula for eyepiece,

18=1(24)1ue

ue=6 cm

Since, the final image is formed at the position of the object, the length of the tube is given by,

L=|ve||uo|

L=244=20 cm

The length of the tube is also given by,

L=|vo|+|ue|

|vo|=206=14 cm

Further, applying lens formula for objective lens,

1f0=1v01u0

1f0=1141(4)

fo3 cm

Hence, option (A) is the correct answer.
