Water potential of a solution is also called as chemical potential of water. It depends on the number of water molecules in the solution relative to solute molecules. More the number of water molecules more the water potential. Diffusion pressure deficit (DPD) is the decrease or deficit in diffusion pressure. The diffusion pressure is created due to solvent particles in the solution. The deficit in diffusion pressure is caused due to solute particles. When solute is added, the deficit in DPD increases.
