If the office of the vice-president falls vacant by resignation, removal, and death or otherwise, then election to fill the vacancy should be held as soon as possible after the occurrence of the vacancy. The newly- elected vice-president remains in office for a full term of five years from the date he assumes charge of his office.

यदि उप-राष्ट्रपति का पद इस्तीफे, हटाने अन्यथा मृत्यु होने के कारण रिक्त हो जाता है, तो रिक्ति को भरने के लिए चुनाव रिक्ति की घटना के बाद जल्द से जल्द आयोजित किया जाना चाहिए। नव-निर्वाचित उपराष्ट्रपति अपने पद का प्रभार ग्रहण करने की तिथि से पाँच वर्ष के पूर्ण कार्यकाल के लिए पद पर बने रहते हैं।
