Hence work out equation from $(1,6.5)$ and $(2,8)$

$y-6.5=\frac{8-6.5}{2-1}(x-1)$

$y-6.5=\frac{1.5}{1}(x-1)$

$y-6.5=1.5x-1.5$

$y=1.5x+5$

Since y as l and x as w

$l=1.5w+5$

for no weight on spring putting $w=0$ in above equation
