The correct option is D2.2m/s and 1.8m/s Let VA and VB be the velocities of two objects moving uniformly. Case 1:
When objects are moving towards each other
In this case the relative velocity of object A w.r.t object B is given by VAB=VA−(−VB)
(∵VB is in the opposite direction to that of object A) VAB=VA+VB
According to question (VA+VB)×1s=4m ⇒VA+VB=4m/s ... (i) Case 2:
When objects are moving in same direction
In this case the relative velocity of object A w.r.t object B is given by VAB=VA−VB
According to question (VA−VB)×10s=4m ⇒(VA−VB)=0.4m/s ... (ii)
Using (i) and (ii) we get VA=2.2m/s
and VB=1.8m/s
