The Delhi Sultanate laid its foundation at the beginning of the thirteenth century. It was Qutub-Uddin-Aibak, the slave of Ghori who laid the foundation of the Slave dynasty and this began the rule of Delhi sultanate that ruled in India from 1206–1526.
