During the war, when the two boys lost their father and their house, they had to face a lot of hardships after that. Their sister suffered from tuberculosis of spine and the two boys had to undertake all kinds of odd jobs to make the ends meet. They had grown up too soon and had taken up all the responsibilities like true gentlemen.
