Burning of a wood is a chemical change.

Reason : On burning wood carbon dioxide, ash and vapours are formed which cannot be converted back to wood.

Burning of a plastic is a physical change because when plastic is heated it gets converted into molten state but still it is a plastic and once it is cooled it gets converted into solid plastic.
