When we calculate large amounts in a calculator why does it put a variable 'e'?what does it mean?

for higher calucluations such as 1000000000 we write it as 1e9 that means 9 zeroes after 1
to showing higher calculations we use this in calcultor so
1e10= 10000000000 and so on
