Question

When we have to measure the volume of an irregular object for example when a stone is tied and then dip into water the volume of the string is also noted then the volume should be wrong? Why?

Solution

As the string is of very small volume we can neglect it otherwise you can note the volume without using the string first take the volume of water and then again take the volume when the stone is fully submerged inside the container in which water is filled and subtract it from the first volume then you will get the accurate volume. You should be very careful that you don’t spill any water.
